  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • Green Onions
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 tsp.Kashmiri Chilly Powder
  • 1/ 2 tsp Mango Powder or 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp.Turmeric Powder

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Begin by washing the potatoes thoroughly and boiling them until they are tender. Once the potatoes are cooked, remove the skin and mash them thoroughly. Set aside.
  2. Finely dice the garlic, onion, and green pepper into small pieces.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard and cumin seeds. Wait until the seeds start to splutter.
  4. Once the seeds start spluttering, add the chopped garlic, onion, and green pepper or chili (depending on your spice tolerance level) and sauté them until they turn slightly brown.
  5. Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and the oil starts to separate.
  6. Add the turmeric powder, Kashmiri chili powder, salt, and mango powder or lemon juice according to your preference.
  7. Once the oil starts to separate, add the mashed potatoes to the pan and mix everything well to combine.
  8. Add the chopped green onions and stir them in.
  9. Your aloo chokha is ready to be served. It can be enjoyed with roti, puri, naan or as a side dish.
